The Nottingham Building Society

The Client:

Nottingham Building Society is a mutual society and a member of the Building Societies Association. TPG were introduced to the Nottingham Building Society through a contractor referral by another client.

The Background:

Nottingham Building Society had acquired a number of premises from a competitor and had a fast track project to rebrand and refit their branches and instructed TPG to assist with the management of the projects by providing CDM Consultancy Services.

The client’s requirements were to provide CDM Consultancy Services for the refurbishment of eight newly acquired branches. TPG were to ensure the projects each ran on time, to budget and were ultimately completed safely.

TPG (along with the client) planned, managed, monitored and coordinated health, safety and welfare during the pre-construction phase of the projects. A PCI document (Pre-Construction Information) was produced that was shared with all contractors and included information to identify, eliminate or control foreseeable risks, information for designers to carry out their duties and additional information to assist the contractors and the Principal Contractor. TPG provided support to both the Client and Principal Contractor throughout the construction phase undertaking site health and safety inspections as required. Upon completion, TPG obtained all relevant information from the Principal Contractor and client nominated contractors and produced the final CDM file.

The project initially began late September of 2017 where TPG did a CDM presentation to all suppliers involved. Work on the final branch was completed three months later in December 2017, shortly before Christmas.

In addition to the CDM consultancy role, TPG also supported the client’s own in-house Project Manager during the construction phase. This ranged from site visit support to monitoring works progress to offering advice on methods of work and contractor performance.

The Feedback:

During our first meeting with TPG it was clear that their expertise and knowledge was exactly what we needed to complement our project team. The safe and timely delivery of this project was business critical and TPG’s involvement has been invaluable. We look forward to the Nottingham and TPG building a long-term relationship.
